I am currently employed with IGX Global as a Unix/Linux Administrator, Security Analyst. Long title, but since IGX is a security company a lot of my aspects of my job focus on security. As an administrator I am not only responsible for the reliability and performance of servers and devices, but the highest possible security while still preserving functionality. With IGX I am not only responsible for the ongoing upkeep of servers but implementations of various services. It is a fun challenge working with a large array of systems, from Solaris and Redhat to even some random Windows 2003 servers.

With my current company I am the head of all server operations and management. I am responsible for the entire server infrastructure with includes but is not limited to DNS, Mail, RBL, Web, FTP, Encryption, Monitoring, Graphing, etc. Since we provide managed services I get my hands on lots of fun devices such as Ironport, PGP Universal, Blue Coat, Netscreen, Neoteris, Sophos, and more. This presents an issue of gathering very detailed knowledge of all current and upcoming technologies. While this is an issue, it is a great situation for someone as interested in technology and learning as I am.
